This is a video installation that was projected in the Samitaur in LA. Selfie Nation emphasizes our postmodern era on how a lot of the young people today are obsessed with taking a photograph of their own portraits (using different social media platforms), to inform people on what they are doing at the moment. We drew inspirations from Pop Art, cubism and different famous portrait painitngs, and recreating our own portraits using lightpainting. We wanted to highlight the different parts of our fraces while playing with the different screens of the tower, to create a cubist effect. The cubist aesthetic was also used to show how fractured and fake "selfie nation" can be.
